‘ESPN Jeopardy!’ Season 2 Will Likely Feature ‘Regular Players’ Instead of Celebrities

Sports fan and Jeopardy! fans can celebrate because the producers just gave a major update for Season 2 of ESPN Jeopardy!. The sports spinoff dropped its first season on July 31 and bosses are already talking about a Season 2.

ESPN Jeopardy!, like Pop Culture Jeopardy!, is only available on streaming. It has not aired on linear TV. Although it has not officially been renewed, the producers share a hopeful update and a casting change.

Jeremy Schaap won Season 1 and took home $500,000 for his charity. Jon Hamm and Kyle Brandt were the runners-up, and both won $100,000 for their charities after answering sports-related questions.

Has ESPN Jeopardy! been renewed for Season 2?

Although an official announcement has not been made, executive producer Michael Davies shares an update on the Inside Jeopardy! Podcast on September 3. Davies shared that Season 2 is “on the cards” after the success of Season 1.

Who will host ESPN Jeopardy! Season 2?

If the show is renewed, Joe Buck, who hosted Season 1, will most likely return. The Monday Night Football announcer hosted the syndicated version of Jeopardy! for one week after Alex Trebek‘s death.

Colin Jost hosts PCJ!, while Ken Jennings hosts the syndicated version, tournaments, Masters, and Celebrity Jeopardy!.

Who will compete on Season 2 of ESPN Jeopardy!?

“The intention was also to have regular players,” Davies said. Season 1 featured ESPN talent and celebrities who are sports fans. Fans complained about the fact that it wasn’t everyday players.

“But I can say that I am hopeful that the next season of ESPN Jeopardy!, which feels very much on the cards, will feature regular players, so stay tuned for an announcement coming around mid-September,” he said.

ESPN Jeopardy! can be streamed on Disney+, Hulu, and the ESPN app. All 10 episodes of the show dropped at once.

What is the format for ESPN Jeopardy!?

The show has six quarterfinal matches. The winners from those games move on to three semifinal games. Then, those three contestants left compete in the final for $500,000.
