John Legend ditched his pencil mustache and Adam Levine keeps adding tattoos, but the real style chameleon of The Voice: Battle of Champions is Kelly Clarkson, who has worn a different hairstyle practically every time we’ve seen her this season.

After debuting a faux bob during the Blind Auditions, achieved via some cleverly pinned-up layers, The Voice Coach wore her long hair down and loosely curled through the Battles. But on the night of the All-Star Competition, airing on April 6, Clarkson’s caramel brown hair was mid-length, resting just below her shoulders. Sorcery!

While Clarkson hasn’t revealed her hair secret just yet or if it’s simply a fresh cut, she perhaps took out some extensions to achieve this latest style. We know she was wearing them as recently as 2024, and she and her longtime hairstylist, Robert Ramos, have used both long and short extensions to create fun looks over the years on The Voice. In 2020, he was clipping them in and out multiple times over the course of a week. The same year, Clarkson casually offered a few locks to the famously bald Dr. Phil on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Clarkson has often credited Ramos with keeping her show-ready. “My hair guy, Robert, is so good,” Clarkson explained during a concert, talking about the faux bob she rocked earlier on The Voice Season 29. “I asked for a bob, because I really want to cut my hair, but…I can’t be having short hair, that’s some hard sh-t to keep up with, you know what I’m saying? He’s so talented everybody thought that I had chopped my hair off. But I didn’t.” Maybe he should be the Style Coach?

Kelly Clarkson called The Voice: Battle of Champions a “cutthroat” season

As the winner of the Super Steal following the Triple Turn Competition, Clarkson (also the winner of four Voice seasons) has so far edged out her fellow Coaches. But she knows that both John Legend and Adam Levine present stiff competition.

“There’s no Steal and Save … It’s really cutthroat, it goes from six to three [Artists per team]. It’s like Hunger Games,” said Clarkson during the first night of Knockouts. Aha. Cut hair for the cut throat.
