Sources exclusively spilled to The Sun that while NBC executives still see Pink, 46, who guest-hosted the show for a week, as the safest bet to carry the franchise forward, the network is seriously considering the beloved skating champions as a fresh alternative.
An insider said: “NBC still very much wants Pink. She’s still the frontrunner to land the job but, as most things do, it comes down to money.
“With Pink, she’d be expensive. Kelly most likely makes just south of $15 million a year from the show alone. Pink wouldn’t be much less.
“A star like Pink is expensive and she wouldn’t uproot her whole life and expose her family’s private life like that if it weren’t the right price. She would need over $10 million to take the job.
“Johnny and Tara came into the conversation much later. They weren’t in the running before a month or so ago. It was a very recent shift,” the source explained following TV expert Rob Shuter’s initial report that NBC was eyeing the duo.
The pair’s recent popularity surge is ultimately what helped push them into the mix.
The source continued: “When the network saw the goodwill and attention they were getting from the audience from The Traitors and the Olympics, and how dynamic and natural they are together, it was a no-brainer to include them in the conversation.”
The TV and sporting duo boast over 1million followers each on Instagram alone.
Their fans adore their bubbly personalities, which frequently feature online.

The Voice coach revealed she was stepping away to prioritize her children, River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9, who moved with her to New York City for the show in 2023.
