Reba McEntire Comedy 'Happy's Place' Picked Up for More Episodes

While most network shows bow out for a midseason break ahead of the holidays, NBC kept the party going thanks to the second season of Happy’s Place. Debuting with a fresh set of episodes in early November, the sitcom didn’t take the typical break that many of its peers did but instead enjoyed a brief holiday interlude following a pause for the Winter Olympics. Otherwise, it’s been game on for the sophomore installment of the Reba McEntire-led production that brought the legendary country music icon back to small-screen scripted entertainment.

Also featuring performances from Belissa Escobedo (Hocus Pocus 2), Melissa Peterman (Reba), Rex Linn (Young Sheldon), Pablo Castelblanco (Alaska Daily), and Tokala Black Elk (Yellowstone), the hit sitcom follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she relocates to Knoxville, Tennessee, after her father’s death to take over his bar. Once there, she discovers that her dad had a secret family and that she’s got a much younger half-sister. Together, Bobbie and Isabella (Escobedo) work through their family drama and do their best to make the titular bar a continuing success.

Today, ahead of the upcoming episode, Collider is excited to unveil a first look at the action to come. Over its two-season run, Happy’s Place has welcomed a slew of famous faces to its guest list, including Carol Kane, Christopher Lloyd, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, and Steve Howey. This week, the list will continue to grow when legendary comedian and Saturday Night Live alum, Cheri Oteri, joins the cast.

In our sneak peek, Oteri’s inspector, Monica, is making Bobbie, Isabella, and Gabby (Peterman) incredibly uncomfortable as she takes her time poring over every square inch of the new speakeasy. Juggling Gabby’s nervous energy and Isabella’s desire to point out all of her upscale design choices, Bobbie is at her wits’ end by the time Monica makes her final notes and takes off her badge.

What’s Next for ‘Happy’s Place’?

With the second season winding down, fans might be wondering what the next steps are for McEntire’s hit sitcom. The great news is that back in February, the NBC favorite was given the green light for a third season, meaning the story isn’t over just yet.

Beyond the renewal, no further details have been announced surrounding where the Season 2 plot will take fans, but we’d expect plenty more hijinks and laughs from the gang of Happy’s Place.
