Jim Thornton, best known as the announcer of Wheel of Fortune, has been suspended from the hit game show.
According to Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, host Ryan Seacrest has no interest in getting involved.
“Ryan doesn’t do drama — especially somebody else’s,” a TV insider told Naughty But Nice. “His survival instinct is incredible. When controversy arrives, Ryan doesn’t play hero. He lets the executives handle it and keeps moving.”
They continued, “Ryan protects Ryan. He doesn’t publicly challenge the network, pick unnecessary fights or attach his brand to another person’s crisis. If there’s trouble, he creates distance — fast.”
The source added that Seacrest plans to act as if nothing happened.
“Ryan will walk onto that set, smile for the cameras and work with whoever Sony puts beside him,” they explained. “He understands the golden rule of television: nobody is bigger than the show. Ryan doesn’t rescue people. Ryan survives.”

TMZ was the first to report Thornton’s suspension on Tuesday, September 1, with producer Sony Pictures Television telling the outlet, “We have recently been made aware of allegations concerning Jim Thornton. He has been suspended from Wheel of Fortune and we are recasting while we conduct a thorough investigation.”
