The Moment Everything Changed at ‘Happy’s Place’ as Bobbie Pulls the Trigger on a Life-Altering Decision After Uncovering Emmett’s Darkest, Most Explosive Secret.
Bobbie Made a Shocking Decision After Learning Emmett’s Big Secret on Happy’s Place
Just as Bobbie and Emmett seemed to a celebrate being on cloud nine together, they fell from grace.
Season 2 of Happy’s Place just delivered a tear-jerker after the romantic bubble between Reba McEntire’s Bobbie and Emmett (Rex Linn) just shockingly popped.
That’s right — just when viewers thought Bobbie and Emmett were heading for fireworks, the January 30 episode of Happy’s Place ended with a jaw-dropping confession that led Bobbie and Emmett to part ways. The budding romance has been an obsession of Season 2 after they navigated a will-they-won’t-they chemistry, and the giggles have been non-stop ever since they got together. But some could say the smitten couple has moved too fast, especially considering Emmett initially held back on pursuing Bobbie due to a secret he’d long harbored for her late father, Happy.
As her father’s best friend and confidante, Emmett dropped the bomb that he knew about Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), Bobbie’s previously estranged, now reunited half-sister, years before their Season 1 reunion. But as the sparks continued to fly between Emmett and Bobbie, it only became more daunting to confess to keeping Happy’s secret.
But Emmett wasn’t able to run from his past forever, as it came back to bite him during Season 2’s “Silence Was Golden.” Here’s what happened:
Rumors of a “secret” started buzzing around Happy’s Place

Just as Bobbie and Emmett geared up for their three-month anniversary date, Steve (Pablo Castelblanco) started feeling quite anxious about Emmett’s little confession to him earlier this season. After eavesdropping on Steve’s lamenting to Takoda (Tokala Black Elk), Gabby (Melissa Peterman) became determined to get to the bottom of the elusive “secret,” recruiting Isabella for help after getting a cold shoulder from her coworkers.
As Isabella and Gabby set out to interrogate Takoda about what he and Steve were hiding, Steve concocted a plan to protect Emmett’s secret: lie to them both separately and claim Takoda was in love with them. While Isabella was mystified by this romantic proclamation, it was enough for a gullible Gabby to call off her men.
After Isabella cornered Takoda and asked if there was anything he wanted to tell her, it didn’t take long for him to come clean about Emmett being aware of her existence and Bobbie being kept in the dark. Aware that Bobbie had planned on telling Emmett she loved them after dinner that night, Isabella fled home to prevent disaster.

The romance between Bobbie and Emmett has been full of “fireworks,” as the two shared their first kiss and even defined their relationship. But, while love is in the air, Emmett is carrying a long-buried secret on Happy’s Place Season 2.
Emmett finally told Bobbie his secret during their anniversary dinner

Just after Bobbie and Emmett wrapped up a romantic dinner together, Isabella burst into the kitchen to disrupt their harmony, giving Emmett subtle hints that the cat was officially out of the bag. Emmett told Isabella that she was thoughtful and promised that he and Bobbie would talk. Naturally, Bobbie was utterly confused by this mayhem as Emmett suddenly turned serious, ultimately sharing that he found out about Isabella a long time ago.
Emmett and Happy had been at their bespoke fishing spot one day, when out of the blue, Happy told Emmett about cheating on Bobbie’s mother and having a child with the estranged mistress. The confession blindsided Bobbie, who was hurt by Emmett knowing for as long as he did before confessing.
“He made me promise to never tell a soul,” Emmett told her. “He was my best friend, Bobbie.
“You know, I think I’m going to have to sit on this for a while,” Bobbie said tearfully, breaking Emmett’s heart as he agreed to give her some time alone to think.

The next day at the tavern, everyone was anxious as Bobbie approached the kitchen, Emmett’s known domain. As soon as Emmett saw her, he said, “Bobbie, I’m so sorry you found out the way you did.”
Bobbie knew he was sorry, and wasn’t there to fight. Emmett was relieved, admitting he hadn’t slept at all the night before. Neither had Bobbie, she confessed, admitted that she’d thought long and hard about how her father had put Emmett in an impossible situation.
Emmett explained that he planned on telling her before diving into their relationship, but after procrastinating the matter, it got even more difficult to shatter their happiness. “You made a promise, and I respect you for keeping it,” Bobbie told him. “You were a good friend.”
“You saying that means the world to me,” Emmett said, relieved by Bobbie’s grace. But she wasn’t done.
“But I think that’s all the two of us can be, just good friends,” Bobbie admitted, instantly breaking Emmett’s heart.
“Are you ending things between us?” Emmett asked. “Because that’s not what I want at all.”
“I just don’t have it in me to be anything more than that right now,” Bobbie shrugged tearfully, leaving Emmett with her head held high.
Find out what happens between Emmett and Bobbie next by watching Season 2 of Happy’s Place on Fridays at 8/7c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
