The price may be right, but the model count is not. A The Price Is Right fan who attended a taping of Season 55 shared a big change coming to the game show.

“One Model per episode,” a Reddit user said. “I don’t believe this has been discussed yet, but new for Season 55 it seems as if they are now down to one model per episode on camera. So each episode will have one model, Drew [Carey] and George [Gray].”

“That’s going to be a jarring change. Is it confirmed?” a fan asked.

“I mean, I attended tapings,” the original poster said.

“I did, too, and there was only 1 model for each taping I attended this summer,” another fan confirmed.

“I’ve been to 3 tapings this season; each one only had one model,” another fan wrote.

There are six models who rotate on the show. Typically, per episode, there are two to three who help out with the games and prizes. One of the females also typically gives the host his microphone at the beginning of the show.

Devin Goda, James O’Halloran, Manuela Arbeláez, and Amber Lancaster have all shared photos from set for this season. Rachel Reynolds and Alexis Gaube have yet to share if they are returning. They most likely are, but nothing has been confirmed.

Fans are reporting that Gray, the show’s announcer, has been helping with games. “It IS weird they have been using George. I mean I don’t mind it, but he’s the announcer,” one said.

Reports seem to be true, as seen in the photo above with Gray and Gaube showing off prizes on the upcoming Star Trek 60th Anniversary episode. That episode will air on September 8. A reason was not given for this change.

“Oh no! Don’t like that,” one fan said about only using one model.

“Hopefully this will not be the new normal,” another fan said, with a fingers-crossed emoji.

“There have been a handful of episodes like this, but there are certain games i feel like this would be hard for,” another commented.

“So if this change is confirmed, then it’d be hard for just one model to handle operations from pricing games that requires two models, like Switch? or Swap Meet. In such cases like this, I think George should fill in the second shoes, because he has been an acting model for years now,” one fan said.

“That’s crazy! But makes more sense now because I follow Amber on Instagram and she was posting about today being her first day back and said that they “switched up the schedule this season” so she’s going to be on her feet even more,” one last fan said.

It is not clear if this policy will also be in effect for the upcoming live episode, which is set to air near Christmas. A premiere date has not yet been set for Season 55. What do you think of the supposed change? Let us know in the comments.
