Very sad news today. The Voice: Battle of Champions Season 29 coaches are heartbreaking news.
Who are the Judges on The Voice: Battle of Champions? Everything We Know About Season 29
The world of television singing competitions is buzzing with anticipation as NBC prepares to launch the next chapter of its iconic franchise under the exciting subtitle, The Voice: Battle of Champions. Premiering in February 2026, this season marks a bold reimagining of the show, ushering in a coaching lineup steeped in experience, talent, and unparalleled star power.
A Historic Coaching Trio
For the first time in The Voice history, the show will feature only three coaches instead of the usual four. Even more impressively, the panel is made up entirely of past winning coaches, raising the stakes for this new format.
Kelly Clarkson: The four-time winner returns for her 10th season. Known for her vocal excellence and genuine investment in her team, Clarkson will be filming Season 29 and The Kelly Clarkson Show simultaneously.
John Legend: Returning for his 11th season after a brief hiatus, Legend brings his signature musical expertise and thoughtful coaching style back to the red chair.
Adam Levine: An original coach and three-time winner, Levine returns for his 18th season. His presence brings back the spirited energy and raw talent-spotting ability that defined the show’s early years.
As these icons take their seats, Season 28 coaches Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg will be stepping aside to make way for this “Battle of Champions” lineup. Carson Daly will also return for his 29th consecutive season to guide the action at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
The “Battle of Champions” Format
Season 29 introduces a reworked sequence of four rounds designed to sharpen the clash between mentors and performers:
The Triple Turn Competition: In the Blind Auditions, coaches vie for “three-chair turns.” The coach with the most triple turns earns a Super Steal for the Battle Rounds, which guarantees an artist win and trumps any other coach’s steal attempt.
Streamlined Teams: Each coach will start with 10 artists instead of the usual 12.
The All-Star Knockouts: In a thrilling twist, each coach brings back two fan-favorite artists from their past teams. Original coach CeeLo Green will return as a special judge to determine the winners of these All-Star head-to-head sing-offs.
The Live Finale: The season culminates in a “Top 4” finale. For the first time, a voting block of Super Fans and Voice Alumni will be part of the studio audience, voting in real-time.
Premiere Schedule
The high-stakes competition kicks off on Monday, February 23, 2026, with a special rollout:
Monday, Feb 23: 2-Hour Season Opener (9/8c)
Wednesday, Feb 25: Extended Installment (9/8c)
Thursday, Feb 26: Third-hour Broadcast (9/8c)
Following the premiere week, the show will return to its usual rhythm every Monday evening.
With Clarkson, Legend, and Levine masterminding their teams, The Voice: Battle of Champions promises to be a celebration of artistry, strategy, and the transformative power of music.
