Riley Green Appears to Set the Record Straight About His Love Life Amid Dating Rumors

Country star Riley Green appears to be setting the record straight on his dating life.

“Single. That was an easy one,” Green, 36, confirmed while appearing on the “In the Blind” podcast on Sunday, March 2. When he was asked how single, Green was quick to reply with “pretty damn” single.

While he didn’t address any specific speculation, fans are convinced that Green was subtly shutting down rumors that he was romantically linked to fellow singer Megan Moroney. Some country music fans have been wondering for years whether Green and Moroney, 27, are more than friends. (Us Weekly has reached out to Green and Moroney’s teams for comment.)

In November 2023, a bearded man appeared in Moroney’s Instagram Stories and followers were quick to wonder whether it was Green. He soon shut down the speculation with a social media video of his own set to “It Ain’t Me Babe” by Johnny Cash.

Things escalated earlier this year when Moroney posted photos of herself on vacation in St. Bart’s with friends. TikTok sleuths were convinced that Green was on the same tropical getaway.

Green became a breakout star after releasing his “Don’t Mind If I Do” duet with Ella Langley last year. He tapped Moroney to fill in for Langley, 25, during a November 2024 live show.

He may not have addressed the Moroney rumors head-on, but Green did call her “talented” during Sunday’s podcast episode.

“I did the Brooks & Dunn [album] Reboot this time. I went to listen to it, and my favorite song on there is not mine. She did ‘[Ain’t] Nothing ‘Bout You.’ I forgot all about that song,” Green said. “I wish I would’ve done that, but it’s so hard to take something that was already right, and make it your own or try to make it better. That was one of those where it was almost kind of rock-feeling. A really cool version of it.”

Green speculated that it was “probably a little easier” for Moroney to cover the iconic song because she’s “a little more talented vocally” than he is. “But that’s a tough thing to go do,” he added.

Moroney has yet to comment about dating rumors but is no stranger to speculation about her love life. (She was previously linked to Morgan Wallen but revealed that they were never “exclusive.”)

“I write really personal songs, so I think it would be insane of me to tell people to stop wondering who my songs are about,” she told Us Weekly exclusively in September 2024. “If I didn’t want people to wonder who my songs are about, I should stop writing such personal songs [that are] clearly about someone.”

She added, “There’s gonna be people that speculate and wonder who the song’s about. More than that, the songs are helping people get through their own lives and their own relationships — that’s why I write songs.”
