‘Happy Place’ Fans React as Reba McEntire’s Son Shares Heartfelt Family Update

We’re so excited for Reba’s family!

Country superstar Reba McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, made a rare announcement about his family on Instagram.

Shelby announced that he and his wife, Marissa, are expecting a baby boy in October 2026.

Reba is also a step-grandmother to multiple kids, based on her relationship with her former stepchildren from her marriage to Narvel Blackstock.

Earlier this week, Reba’s son, Shelby Blackstock (whom she shares with ex-husband Narvel Blackstock), shared some incredibly personal news on Instagram. Posting photos alongside his wife, Marissa (whom he married in February 2022), at Disney World, the couple announced they were expecting their first child. What’s more, they revealed that they will welcome a baby boy in October 2026.

“Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October,” she wrote on April 14. “See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you! 🤟🏼.”

As soon as Shelby revealed the exciting news, it didn’t take long before some of Reba’s TV family had to voice their excitement online.

“Yes!!!!! I am so happy for you both!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Melissa Peterman exclaimed in the comments. “The most incredible news! Beyond thrilled for you two!!💙💙💙,” JoAnna Garcia Swisher (who played Reba’s daughter Cheyenne Montgomery on Reba) added.

And if that’s not enough, fans were also ecstatic to learn about Reba’s family news.
