The Tavern Stays Open: Who is Returning for ‘Happy’s Place’ Season 3?
Great news for fans of the tavern! In early February 2026, NBC officially greenlit Happy’s Place for a third season. The renewal comes as the show continues to be a cornerstone of the network’s Friday night comedy lineup, alongside fellow hit St. Denis Medical.
With the 2026–2027 broadcast season confirmed, fans are already looking ahead to see which familiar faces will be serving up drinks and drama at the bar.

The Core Cast: Expect the Usual Suspects
While formal cast contracts for Season 3 are typically finalized closer to production, the series is built on the chemistry of its ensemble. It is highly expected that the entire main cast will return to continue the story of Bobbie and Isabella’s complicated sisterhood:
Reba McEntire (Bobbie): The heart of the show and the fiery co-owner of the tavern.
Belissa Escobedo (Isabella): Bobbie’s younger half-sister and business partner.
Melissa Peterman (Gabby): The quirky, fan-favorite bartender whose history with Reba McEntire (dating back to their Reba days) remains a major draw for the series.
Rex Linn (Emmett): The loyal cook and Bobbie’s primary romantic interest.
Pablo Castelblanco (Steve): The tavern’s high-strung but lovable accountant.
Tokala Black Elk (Takoda): The easy-going waiter who rounds out the “Happy’s Place” family.
What to Expect in Season 3
The renewal announcement followed a highly successful run in early 2026, which saw the series reach its highest-rated episode in the 18–49 demographic.
The upcoming season is expected to pick up the pieces of the Season 2 cliffhangers, particularly regarding the evolving relationship between Bobbie and Emmett. Showrunners have teased that while the tavern is “staying open,” new secrets from the past may still be lurking in the cellar.
“Both ‘St. Denis Medical’ and ‘Happy’s Place’ have delivered comedic brilliance… truly connecting with our audience,” said Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBC.
When Will it Air?
While an exact premiere date hasn’t been set, Season 3 is expected to debut in Fall 2026 as part of NBC’s primetime schedule. Until then, fans can catch the remainder of Season 2, which resumes new episodes on February 27, 2026, following the Winter Olympics hiatus.
