“Hurt Like That” is certainly somber — check out the lyrics to the refrain:

It’s a cold, cold rain, it’s a bitter kind of pain /
It’ll leave a stain on your past, it’ll haunt your sleep /
It’ll cut you bone deep, and it’ll shatter you like glass /
I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that, I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that

McEntire’s latest song is featured on her new, five-track EP, titled Hurt Like That, which is described as “a thematically curated collection” of music that “pairs a newly recorded song with carefully selected tracks that celebrate five legendary decades.”

“It’s part of a capsule of some of my favorite heartbreak songs and I sure hope you enjoy it,” McEntire said of her new song on Instagram. The EP also includes her 1984 hit single “Somebody Should Leave,” 1991’s “For My Broken Heart,” 1986’s “What Am I Gonna Do About You,” and 2019’s “The Clown.”

McEntire’s fans also shared rave reviews of the single on YouTube, mirroring what Linn said about her new music.

“Nobody delivers heartbreak, strength, and goosebumps like Reba,” one commented, while another said, “Reba never fails to deliver the story telling and emotions.”

Happy’s Place Season 2

Ready for another round? Happy’s Place Season 2 has been serving up heart and humor, with new episodes airing Fridays at 8/7c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.

Starring Reba McEntire, Rex Linn, Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Tokala Black Elk, and Pablo Castelblanco, Season 2 of Happy’s Place features even more nostalgic reunions and sitcom hilarity.

The romance between Bobbie and Emmett has been full of “fireworks,” as the two shared their first kiss and even defined their relationship. But, while love is in the air, Emmett is carrying a long-buried secret on Happy’s Place Season 2.

While McEntire is busy releasing new music and preparing for Happy’s Place Season 3 with her co-star Linn, wedding bells are also in the couple’s future. And while no concrete wedding date has been set, McEntire certainly has been thinking about aspects of the big day. During May 2026 interview with Extra, the former Voice Coach gave fans a few hints of what kind of wedding she’s planning.

“It’ll be low-key, lots of friends and family,” the star revealed before confessing that her many farm animals will be part of the festivities, too. After all, McEntire and Linn are planning to tie the knot on their Tennessee ranch.

“We’ll have to have dogs there. I have two grand-dogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or somethings like that,” McEntire continued. “But we have to have our animals in there. We’ve got longhorns and donkeys, horses, cats. We have a lot of fun with them.”
