The Voice — Show ‘has run its course’ fans say as they slam it as ‘boring’

The Voice — Show ‘has run its course’ fans say as they slam it as ‘boring’.

THE Voice has kicked off its new season – and fans aren’t too happy with it.

In season 25, Dan + Shay have made their coaching debut, replacing singer Niall Horan while he’s on tour, as John Legend and Reba McEntire remain on the panel, joined by alum Chance the Rapper.

Some fans aren’t all that happy with the show this season, and they are not keeping quiet on the matter.

“I’m thinking that #TheVoice has run its course,” one person tweeted. “Are there any fun people that audition? Everything is a sob story, and there is far more church talk than anything…. Just boring. Same s**t different half year.

“I do like me some country music; but I love me some rock & roll & even some pop,” another viewer commented. “#TheVoice is too country this season!”

The Voice airs on Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC and can be streamed on Peacock with a subscription here. The show can also be streamed on Hulu, Sling, and Fubo with a subscription.

Fans sound off on Gwen’s potential return

Later in the thread, the same commenter mentioned they “feel like the show is running out of coaches,” as they stated, “We will continue to get new coaches because previous coaches aren’t coming back anymore.

“John and Gwen are the only staple coaches left, since Blake has retired and Kelly has moved, I don’t see her coming back (or any of the other former coaches from previous seasons tbh).”

“Gwen has new music coming out this year, plus Gxve Beauty. So she might be busier this year,” another fan pointed out.

Will Gwen ever return?

Gwen Stefani has been a staple coach on The Voice, however, she decided not to come back for season 25.

On a Reddit board dedicated to The Voice, a fan posed the question, “Gwen Stefani – will she be back for season 26?”

They expanded, “We knew Gwen is out for season 25, obviously – but do we think she will return for season 26? Or could she be done for good since Blake is also not coming back?”

Another Redditor excitedly replied, “I had this question too!”

The commenter continued, “We know she tends to pop in and out of seasons. Like she’ll do every other season or she’ll be on for a season, take a break for a few seasons rather, and then come back. She did 22 and 24, but I feel like she might take a longer break this time around and not do 26.”

Fans predict this will be Reba’s season, continued

Although this is the first time a pair will sit on the panel, they served as Battle Advisors on Blake Shelton‘s team in 2020.

In the comments section, viewers praised the Seven Minutes In Heaven singer while sharing their concerns for the first-timers.

“Not keen on this Dan and Shay situation. Why? Who are they really?” a critic trolled.

“Yes! #TeamReba all the way!” one fan cheered.

“Outside of Reba, the rest is kind of meh. She’s the real deal!” another fan gushed.

“Not liking the new judges sorry,” a fourth person wrote:

“Go #TeamReba! You should have broken up that row of males and put Reba in the middle! She looks outnumbered! However, she’s pretty feisty! So I’m not worried!” a commentator chimed.

Fans complain of ‘too many country coaches’

Since Dan + Shay are replacing Niall Horan this season, half of the coaches are country music artists.

In a thread on Reddit, supporters of The Voice explained why this doesn’t sit right with them.

“I can’t be the only person annoyed that Country Western (CW) is overshadowing everything. If CW had its own show it would be better,” one critic ranted.

“If the music industry picked the winner it would also be better. America voting is a train wreck.”
