Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Brings Back A 141-Episode Young Sheldon Veteran In New Trailer

A fan-favorite Young Sheldon character returns this week in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

It has been an eventful 2025-2026 TV season for The Big Bang Theory spinoff. Now that all the set-up for Georgie and Mandy’s new life with the McAllisters is done, the CBS comedy has been able to delve deeper into their collective stories.

Georgie’s attempt to further grow his auto shop has been at the forefront of his narrative, while Mandy’s attempt to make a name for herself as a weather girl has dominated hers. Together, they have addressed various issues, including ones involving both of their families.

Jim, Audrey, and Connor are now also further fleshed out as characters. While different from the Cooper family, their own issues have been interesting to see, not to mention a refreshing change after seven seasons of Young Sheldon.

Still, Georgie’s clan has been very much present in the series, with both Mary and Missy appearing multiple times throughout the year. Other notable faces coming back are Meemaw, Dale, and even Pastor Jeff. This week, however, CBS is bringing back one more fan-favorite character.

The new trailer for Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2, episode 18 (via TVPromos/YouTube) confirms the return of Lance Barber as George. Titled “A New Scoreboard and a Horse’s You Know What,” the outing will see a major development in Georgie and Fagenbacher’s rivalry, as they go head-to-head when the latter tries to sabotage the Cooper patriarch’s tribute. The episode also marks the second death anniversary of George. Watch the video below:

Aside from Barber coming back as George, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2, episode 18 also features Mary and Missy, as seen in the trailer. Beyond the main Cooper family, the outing also sees the return of two of the closest friends of George’s late father.

Doc Farrow’s Coach Wilkins and Rex Linn’s Principal Petersen. In the “A New Scoreboard and a Horse’s You Know What” trailer, the pair is seen talking to Mandy’s husband, potentially discussing how he’s going to honor his father.

For context, George died of a heart attack in the very last minutes of the Young Sheldon penultimate episode. The two-part finale that followed was defined by the family’s grief and Sheldon’s eventual move to California to start his post-graduate studies at Caltech. Since then, the boy genius hasn’t come home — at least on-screen, as he has yet to make an appearance in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, despite the fan clamor.

Looking at the official clip, it seems like George’s Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage appearance will once again be in the form of a dream or visual. Previously, the patriarch appeared before Georgie at the height of his fever in season 1. This time, hopefully, he isn’t in a delirious state when he meets his dad in his dreams.
