Season 2 of The Paper follows the Toledo Truth Teller team fresh off their win at the Ohio Journalism Awards, with Ned (Domhnall Gleeson) searching for a journalistic crusade, which he decides is coming for a local private club that jeopardizes the paper. Meanwhile, he and Mare (Chelsea Frei) try to figure out their connection, Esmeralda (Sabrina Impacciatore) struggles to find her place, and the staff begins to find their footing as reporters.
