Key Points
- ‘The Voice’ Knockouts continue
- Knockouts pair teammates in sing-offs; losers are eliminated with no Saves or Steals.
- Joe Walsh and Zac Brown serve as Mega Mentors for different coaching teams this season.
The Voice Knockouts continue in their new timeslot on Monday night as the musicians are paired up against a teammate in a sing-off that will determine who will move on to the Playoffs. There are no Saves or Steals in the Knockout rounds, so the loser is definitely eliminated.
That said, each artist gets to pick their song to give an indication of the type of artist they hope to be after the competition.
And, in addition to an assist from their coach, this season, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and multi-Grammy Award-winning Joe Walsh and Grammy Award-winning multi-hyphenate Zac Brown are serving as the Mega Mentors. Brown, the frontman of Zac Brown Band, made his Voice debut when he joined Michael and Snoop to coach their teams. Walsh joined Niall and Reba to mentor their remaining artists.
NBC shared a leak from Team Bublé with Rob Cole performing The Red Clay Strays‘ “Wondering Why” and Marty O’Reilly performing Joe Cocker‘s “The Letter.”
“I’ll be damned,” Snoop said when they were done. “I’m going to start with Marty. Man, the way you sing, the way you howl and growl, there ain’t nothing but the dog in you and I love that. You could win The Voice. You were that good. Brother Rob Cole, the way you started on that piano and you stood up and went to a whole ‘nother level, that’s superstar. But to me, I’d go with the dog.”
“Rob, I think you should be playing the piano more,” Niall suggested. “You told the story so well and Marty, you don’t necessarily look at us but it’s captivating to watch. [To Michael] I don’t even know where you go here. Both of these deserve to still be here and it’s sad that someone actually has to leave here right now.”

Then it was Reba’s turn to weigh in. She said, “Great job both of you. I loved you playing the piano, I loved you singing a Joe Cocker song and you channeled a little bit of Joe here tonight. Fantastic.”
Finally, Michael spoke. “Each one of you executed perfectly. My God, I should not have put you together because both of you are too good not to go on.”
The winner of this Knockout will be revealed Monday night.
The Voice airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
