Ariana Grande Has Officially Vowed Never to Return to ‘The Voice’

Ariana Grande says she can’t do The Voice again because she got ‘so emotionally attached’ to contestants

The “Wicked” star was a coach in 2021.

Don’t expect to see Ariana Grande returning to The Voice anytime soon.

The former coach, who sat alongside alongside Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Blake Shelton in season 21, revealed on a recent episode of the Las Culturistas podcast that her time on the show hit her hard.

She agreed with hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang that spinning in the Voice chair was fun, but…

“I I got so emotionally attached to everyone. That’s my problem,” Grande said of the contestants she coached. “I can’t really do that because I really get in. I really get in there with everyone. I love everyone so much. I love meeting people, and I’ve felt so invested.”

The set-up of The Voice is that each coach acquires a team of their favorite performers who then compete for the title of, yes, “The Voice.”

In Grande’s season, Clarkson prevailed, as the sibling trio of Girl Named Tom pulled out the win for Clarkson’s team.

Grande had nothing but good things to say about her former costar, even calling her “the best in the world” and “f—ing incredible.”

In its current season, coaches on The Voice include Michael Bublé, Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, and Snoop Dogg. The four are at the point where they’ve each assembled teams of nine who will compete against one another in the Knockouts round. In that one, each coach will whittle their teams down to five contestants to take to the Playoffs.

Meanwhile, Grande has had no trouble finding work. The “Thank U, Next” singer stars in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked, in which she plays good witch Glinda. The musical film, which costars Cynthia Erivo as her counterpart Elphaba, arrives in theaters Nov. 22.
