Blake Shelton isn’t helping reports of marital strife between him and Gwen Stefani with his latest post. The country crooner sent fans into a frenzy after sharing a photo with Lauren Alaina, whom he referred to as a good friend in the caption.

The photo, which was shared to Instagram, showed Blake leaning into Lauren as they both wore dark outfits and smiled for the camera. Lauren is currently competing as a contestant on the second season of Blake’s game show Barmageddon.

The singer used the post to promote the show’s latest episode instructing fans to tune in, all while referring to Lauren as his “buddy.”

While the selfie seemed innocent enough, some fans began suggesting this was disrespectful to his wife, considering the various rumors the couple has been subjected to.

“You need to start spending time with your wife before you lose her,” a follower wrote, Life & Style reports, while another comment said, Gwen did a mistake trusting you.”

Nevertheless, there were various comments pointing out that Lauren is currently engaged to businessman Cam Arnold, so there’s likely nothing to read into in the photo other than shameless promotion.

For now, Blake and Gwen haven’t responded to the allegations their marriage is in trouble, even though they caused a stir when Gwen admitted they’d be spending the holidays apart after both prioritizing work obligations.

“I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called,” Gwen told Access Hollywood in December of her New Year’s plans, explaining she chose at the last minute to ditch watching Blake’s show in lieu of having her own special performance. “I was like, ‘Eh, I’m gonna do it.’ If you’re gonna be working, then I’m gonna be working,” she added.

Reports Claim Blake And Gwen Are Growing Apart

In a report from earlier this month, a source told Life & Style the couple are practically leading separate lives, despite tying the knot in 2021.

“Gwen and Blake’s marriage is definitely in trouble,” the source explained, adding Blake was “really upset” and “disappointed” Gwen chose to be away from him on New Year’s, abandoning their original plan.

“Lately, they’ve been at odds about everything from career decisions and the parenting of her three boys to where they spend most of their time,” they explained. “The tension continues to grow, and Blake and Gwen are drifting apart as a result.”

The same source suggested that Blake’s recent decision to stop drinking, which he revealed in December, was an attempt to please his wife. “Some say Gwen doesn’t really like him boozing,” they explained. “And this was a gesture to appease his wife.”

Gwen and Blake have been romantically involved since 2015 after meeting on The Voice. They became engaged in 2020 and tied the knot the following year, marking the second marriage for both celebs.

Blake was previously married to country singer Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015, while Gwen was married to Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale from 2002 until their divorce in 2016 (though they separated the year prior). Together, they have three sons: Kingston, born on May 26, 2006; Zuma, born on August 21, 2008; and Apollo, born on February 28, 2014.
