Reba McEntire’s ‘Happy’s Place’ Season 2: Everything We Know About the Heartwarming NBC Comedy
The beloved sitcom returns November 7 with A-list guests and even more family-friendly laughs

Anything with Reba McEntire is sure to be a hit, and her newest NBC show Happy Place is no exception. In fact, the show was renewed for a second season just seven months after the completion of the first one. Below, we share everything you need to know about the cast, plot, release date and more.
What to know about ‘Happy Place’ Season 2
Happy Place follows a woman named Bobbie (McEntire) after she inherits her late father’s tavern—conveniently known as Happy’s Place—only to learn that her half-sister Isabella (Belissa Escobedo) is already there. To make matters worse, Bobbie never knew Isabelle existed—until now.
“Fans can expect a lot of laughing and a lot of heart,” McEntire, who is not only the star but also an executive producer, told First For Women of the show in 2024. “I fell in love with the show’s concept the first time I heard it, and it stars an eclectic group of people—we just have a blast.”
“When her father dies, Bobbie discovers that she has a half-sister she knew nothing about,” McEntire continued. “The premise is really about how she is learning to deal with that and how she interacts with a cast of colorful characters.”

Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off and is guaranteed to have just as many laughs and family-friendly moments.
“In season 2, Happy’s Place reopens its doors, and a long-buried secret comes to light that will test loyalties and shake things up inside the tavern,” the official logline reads. “Through it all, Bobbie must remind everyone that family isn’t what you’re born into, but it’s the people that stand beside you, even in the workplace.”
Get to know the Season 2 cast
Season 2 of Happy Place is expected to have some A-list celebrity guests, including Christopher Lloyd (of Back to the Future fame), Carol Kane (Taxi and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Cheri Oteri (Saturday Night Live and Grown Ups 2). They will be joined by Peterman, Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black, Rex Linn and, of course, McEntire.
“There’s something for everybody,” cast member Melissa Peterman told Woman’s World earlier this year. “The show maintains the magic that we had on Reba but also brings in a new cast of characters that are just as lovable. It has heart and humor, and I feel really lucky that I get to go to a job that I love with people I love. How often do you get a second chance to work with your best friend? Reba is so wonderful!”
Is ‘Happy Place’ a spinoff of ‘Reba’?
Despite having a lot of the same cast members, Happy Place is not a spinoff of Reba—a sitcom that ran from 2001 until 2007. Even so, McEntire said the vibes on set and between the cast are just as magical as ever.

“The first time we went into a table read, it was very nostalgic,” the actress told People magazine in May of this year. “It was very emotional. I mean, see, I’m getting choked up right now. That’s the way it was for all of us to be so blessed. If you get one really good sitcom that lasts for six seasons, you think, ‘Man, I’ve got the golden ring. That’ll be it. Probably never do it again, because that’s magic in a bottle.’ We got it again and we realized it.”
‘Happy Place’ Season 2 release date
Happy Place Season 2 debuts on NBC on November 7, and if you need to catch up on Season 1, you can do so on Peacock.
