Jeopardy! taken off air for two days all across the US as fans call change ‘such a bummer’
The quiz show has endured numerous schedule changes, leaving fans begging for its regular programming
JEOPARDY! has been removed from the air for two days all around the country, disappointing loyal watchers.
Many fans won’t be able to tune in to the game show as usual on Thursday and Friday due to a significant schedule change for the holiday week.

Social media erupted earlier this week upon fans’ discovery that new episodes, or even reruns, of Jeopardy! won’t air in many cities in favor of sports and other news coverage.
In other words, the programming schedule varies depending on the TV station and market of the viewer, since Jeopardy! is syndicated, so not everyone will have access to their usual broadcast.
Many major cities have been affected by the change-up, such as St. Louis, Missouri; Nashville, Tennessee; and Austin, Texas, where the show has been completely axed from the Thanksgiving Day lineup on several major networks.
In other areas, the quiz show has been preempted on Friday, or episodes have been considerably delayed to accommodate other programs.
Devoted Jeopardy! watchers reacted to the switch-up online, with some calling it “such a bummer” that episodes won’t be available during their regular time slots.
However, fans were reminded that new episodes are available to stream on Peacock and Hulu the next day for a week, thanks to a deal Sony Pictures Television made with the streamers earlier this year.
This went into effect one day after Jeopardy!’s Season 42 premiered in September.
Around the same time, fans were annoyed over another sudden schedule change that forced them to miss an episode.
The show had only just returned after a summer hiatus when some viewers were unable to watch a Monday night episode because a football game was airing at the same time.
Most affected viewers were on the West Coast, but their outrage was felt across social media.
“F**K DA FOOTBALL GAME WHY YOU GOTTA PUSH JEOPARDY TO 9:00?” one Reddit user wrote.
“I’m happy for next day streaming, since Monday Night Football prevents me from watching this game tonight,” said another.
Ken Jennings, a former Jeopardy! champ, is the sole host of the game show after a two-year stint as a dual host with The Big Bang Theory actress, Mayim Bialik.
