The Reba alum, 46, will be reuniting with her former Reba TV mom Reba McEntire and TV stepmom, Melissa Peterman, on the pair’s hit NBC series, the network announced on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Garcia Swisher’s role will make her one of a handful of former Reba cast members to cameo alongside McEntire and Peterman on the series, following first-season appearances from both Steve Howey and Christopher Rich.
In her guest star appearance, Garcia Swisher will take on the role of Kenzie, a “local Knoxville influencer who has been hired to represent Happy’s Place for their upcoming social media marketing campaign,” much to “Bobbie’s chagrin,” according to a description from NBC.

The casting news comes after Garcia Swisher and other Reba stars recently linked up for dinner. On Sept. 27, Peterman shared photos from the hangout featuring herself, McEntire, Garcia Swisher and Rich in a parking lot after grabbing a bite. The former castmates were joined by McEntire’s fiancé, Rex Linn, and Rich’s wife, Eva Halina Rich.
“Dinner with friends is always good. Dinner with these friends is everything. #familyforever ,” Peterman, 54, captioned the snaps, as Garcia Swisher commented, “Goodness, i love you all so much
.”
Fans luckily won’t have to wait too long to see Garcia Swisher, who played Cheyenne on Reba, appear on Happy’s Place, in which McEntire plays Bobbie, a woman who inherits a bar from her father, and Peterman also stars in the series as Gabby. Season 2 kicks off in November.
The series previously premiered in October 2024.
“The first time we went into a table read, it was very nostalgic,” McEntire previously told PEOPLE in May about working her former collaborators from Reba. “It was very emotional. I mean, see, I’m getting choked up right now. That’s the way it was for all of us to be so blessed.”
“If you get one really good sitcom that lasts for six seasons, you think, ‘Man, I’ve got the golden ring. That’ll be it. Probably never do it again, because that’s magic in a bottle.’ We got it again and we realize it.”
She added, “It’s real easy to step in back into that with the crew. You love people you get to work together with that you’ve worked with before. It’s just so much easier than starting over.”

Garcia Swisher told PEOPLE in July 2024 that she would “100%” make an appearance on the show. “But more importantly, I’m just excited to go watch the show because I am really excited for all of them. It’s going to be great,” she said at the time, adding that her two former cast mates are “just gold” together.
“I know what the warmth of that set being led by Reba feels like,” she said. “It’s just going to be a great experience. It’s such a gift. It was the perfect opportunity.”
