Team Kelly contestants performed unique renditions during The Voice Knockouts.
Coaches praised Jonah’s sincerity and Mikenley’s originality: “I think you won this Knockout.”
Viewers must tune in Monday night to discover the winner.
Monday night is Night 2 of the Knockouts on Season 29 of The Voice with coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John Legend having to make their final choices as to which three members of their team will go into the semifinals.
In this sneak peek from Team Kelly, Mikenley Brown performs Chappell Roan‘s “Pink Pony Club” and Jonah Mayor performs Phil Collins‘ “You’ll Be In My Heart” during The Voice Knockouts.
Here is what the coaches had to say when the performance wrapped up:
“Jonah, I think you’re great. I love your character,” Adam said. “Mikenley, we all turned around for you in the Blinds. It was just a really cool vibey thing. It seems like that’s where you’re most comfortable in this ethereal alternate universe of your own like magical world. I’m a big fan of your voice. It was a good song choice, and you did great.”
“You both are so talented. Jonah, you’re so gifted, You’re such a beautiful singer,” John said. “I think this song is really sincere and it’s lovely. It’s hard in a competition setting for that to land exactly where you want it to land. Mikenley, I love this song and I thought it was really interesting that you took some liberties with the melody. It actually worked for me. I think you won this Knockout.”

And then it was Kelly’s turn, the most important critique of the three.
“I’m going to start with Jonah. Your passion when you’re on stage, it’s infectious to me even like Céline. She’s so committed and I love that. I think you’re really special. Mikenley, I don’t think there’s anyone like you, like in your lane. Even down to your wardrobe. You come out here and I was like, ‘I want that sweater.’ You pick songs that people are familiar with, but you always put a twist on them. You always go to these really cool places that not many artists go, which I think is very cool and interesting and sets you apart.”
So, who is the winner of this Knockout?”
Tune in on Monday night at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC to find out. Streams next day on Peacock.
