Kelly Clarkson left her fellow coaches and fans stunned after bringing an’ incredible gift to the studio for Season 29 of The Voice.

Kelly Clarkson Pulled Out a Hilarious Gag Gift on The Voice: “I Got Y’all Something”

Wait, can this be real?

Yeah, we wouldn’t want to go up against Kelly Clarkson, either. Of the three Coaches on The Voice: Battle of Champions, Clarkson has the most wins (four), the most girl power, and the strongest ties to the country music scene. Her fellow Coaches, Adam Levine and John Legend, have been desperate to get country Artists of their own, and Clarkson was kind enough to offer them a few tips. Kind of.

During a break between Artists on the second night of Blind Auditions, the three Coaches chatted backstage, and Clarkson gave the men a pointed gift.

“Since I’m crushing it, and I knew I would, I got y’all something,” she began confidently. Pulling out textbooks, she explained, “It’s The Voice: Battle of Champions Country Music Coaching for Dum-Dums. You’re welcome!” Honestly? If this were a real book and not a gag, we’d buy it.

Amused but humble, Levine pretended to quote from the book: “Chapter One: Don’t Even Bother.” Clarkson added, “‘I’m Going To Crush You’ is chapter two.” Legend and Levine may be down when it comes to winning Triple Turns and country Artists, but they certainly aren’t out. If there’s one thing we know about The Voice, it’s that anything can happen.

Adam Levine still blames Blake Shelton for his luck with country Artists on The Voice

During the first night of Blind Auditions, 14-year-old AJ Robinson performed Lainey Wilson’s “Watermelon Moonshine,” with a guitar in his hands and a cowboy hat on his head. After only Legend turned his chair around for the talented teen, Levine explained his reluctance to throw his hat in the ring for any country singer. “Blake Shelton has ruined me. He wounded me deep down in my soul,” he said. For years, Levine lost country Artist after country Artist to Shelton on The Voice.

Legend, too, claimed to be “scarred from many years of trying to get a country Artist on my team…not that I’m bitter!”

Only Clarkson seems to be unbothered by the Shelton legacy, but maybe that’s because the Texas native has become the new default go-to country Coach.

The Voice: Battle of Champions

The Voice Season 29 is shaking things up, premiering on Monday, February 23 at 9/8c on NBC and streaming the next day on Peacock.

Officially titled The Voice: Battle of ChampionsSeason 29 features the show’s first-ever three-Coach lineup, putting The Voice OGs Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend back in the red chairs for an epic showdown.

The Voice Season 29 will also introduce fresh format updates such as the “Triple Turn Competition” and the “Super Steal.” You also won’t want to miss the exciting return of CeeLoo Green in a totally new role.

During another Blind Audition that night, Legend and Clarkson called out Levine for fibbing about his hometown to get an Artist’s favor, accusing him of becoming a “liar” like Shelton because he’s sitting in the former Coach’s chair. If only some of that country savvy would “rub off” too.
