Why ‘Elsbeth’ & ‘Ghosts’ Are Taking 10 Weeks Off From New Episodes on CBS

Ghosts and Elsbeth are both airing fall finales this evening (December 18) on CBS.

Well, after tonight’s episodes, both shows will be taking two-and-a-half months off from new episodes!

So, why is this happening and when will they both return to the air?

Both Ghosts and Elsbeth will return from their fall finale hiatuses on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Ghosts will return to the 8:30 pm ET timeslot, with Elsbeth at 10 pm ET.

So, why the long wait from now until then? While it may seem like a bummer, it’s actually very common for TV shows to take breaks for the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s holidays.
