Celebrity Family Feud Makes History with Its First All Trans Team to Compete

Television history is being made tonight, as ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud airs its first-ever all-transgender team competing on the hit game show. The star-studded team—appropriately named Team Laverne—features powerhouse advocates, actors and entertainers Laverne Cox, TS Madison, Mila Jam, Joslyn De Freece, and Miss Peppermint.
The ladies joined forces to win $25,000 for the TS Madison Starter House, a reentry program developed in partnership with NAESM (National AIDS Education & Services for Minorities).
The Starter House is part of SAFE—Sisterhood Alliance for Freedom and Equality—and serves as a transitional home for formerly incarcerated and system-impacted Black transgender women, with a special focus on those exiting sex work.

We previously reported earlier this year that the TS Madison Starter House aims to disrupt cycles of marginalization by offering holistic support, dignity, and real-life tools for survival and success.
In our exclusive interview with trans activist Dominique Morgan, she shared how the house prioritizes intention and readiness over celebrity association:
“We don’t want you coming there just because it is ‘The Chateau’ and connected to Madison,” Dominique explained. “We want you there, because of you.”
She emphasized that those interested in becoming part of the Starter House community should begin taking action now:
“The best way to make sure that you are in a position to be selected in the Starter House is to get connected to NAESM now!”
Don’t miss this historic episode airing Thursday, July 31 on ABC. And stay tuned with Gaye Magazine for more exclusive coverage on the TS Madison Starter House and ongoing efforts to support the lives and futures of Black trans women.
