Riley Green‘s country music career has been taking off for years, but now he’s become a television star in his own right, as well. He starred in several episodes of Marshals and will be one of the coaches on Season 30 of The Voice, which premieres in September 2026.
With such a busy schedule, which also includes touring and promotion of his fourth album, which is coming out in September, Green has to keep himself healthy at all costs. This is something he’s struggled with at times, as he’s mentioned how easily he’s gotten worn down.
Below, we rounded up everything we know about Green’s health issues and injuries.
Does Riley Green have a medical condition?
Green does not have any specific medical condition, but he did reveal to Billboard that he is “sleepy all the time,” calling it the “biggest battle” in his career. “It doesn’t do well during a country music show to be yawning on the stage,” Green admitted.
What happened to Riley Green at his Australia concert?
In March 2026, Green was performing a concert in Melbourne, Australia, and he was struck in the head by a cell phone thrown from the audience. He had to get five stitches to connect the bottom of his earlobe back to his cheek.
“5 stitches later… sewed up,” Green captioned a photo on his Instagram Story. He also shared a photo of a device that tethers phones to one’s belt loop, jokingly writing, “Passin’ these out at the door tonight.”

A video of the incident was shared on social media. It showed Green walking to the side of the stage and asking for the house lights to be turned on after he was hit in the ear. Green pointed out the person who threw the phone and asked security to escort them out.
When he returned to the stage, there was blood trickling down his neck. Someone helped wipe away the blood and Green was able to continue the show before getting stitched up later on.
Why was Riley Green hospitalized?
In January 2025, Green was hospitalized in the emergency room after an incident during a hunting trip.
“At the emergency room cause I stepped on a nail, impaled my foot,” he said in a TikTok video at the time. “And when I took my boot off, corn fell all over the floor.”
He laughed and continued, “The lady came in here wanting to know where all the corn came from. ‘It’s from my boot. You don’t want me to take this other one off, either.’”
Luckily, his visit to the hospital was quick, and Green was able to resume hunting immediately.
