RIVALRIES are heating up on this season of The Voice – and one coach made a shocking comparison on the latest episode.
Contestant Laura Williams chose Niall Horan as her coach after she confessed to being a fan of One Direction during her blind audition, causing John Legend to make a huge comparison.
John said that Niall’s fan demographic reminded him of when star Nick Jonas was a coach on the show, adding: “I love Laura Williams and I’m very upset that she’s a Directioner.”
The singer went on to say: “Niall’s been a thorn in my side all season, and I have no chance against him with these girls.”
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm ET on NBC. Fans can tune in to the show on Peacock, Fubo, Sling TV and Hulu Live TV.

Blake sat down with People in December 2022 to explain his choice, saying that he wanted to spend more time with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and his stepsons.
“Gwen and I have done so much traveling and touring and work the first half of our lives that now we’re like, ‘Hey, I’m good to put my sweatpants on at 6 p.m. and watch Ozark eight times,'” he told the outlet. “That’s our life now, and we love it.”
He added: “If I walked away from my career at this time, the only thing that I run the risk of is having regrets that I’m missing out on some more important things in life. For now, that’s our kids. This isn’t about me anymore and never will be again.”
The couple met while coaching on The Voice in 2014 and married in 2021.
Why Blake left the show
After 23 seasons of The Voice, the longest-standing original coach Blake Shelton made the decision to walk away from the show.
Shelton said in an October 2022 Instagram announcement: “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after next season.”
“It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew, and catering people, you are the best.
“I have to give a huge shout to the singers—the ‘Voices,’ who come on this stage season after season and amaze us with their talent, and a special thanks to those who chose me to be their coach.
“Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these artists, us coaches, and everyone at The Voice who are chasing our dreams. It would not happen without you!”
