In a first look from season 29 of The Voice, dubbed The Voice: Battle of Champions, the coaches return to their red chairs for an all-star round.

“It’s the battle of champions for a reason,” Legend, 47, says in the opening of the trailer.

Then, the coaches show a glimpse of their competitive edge.

“I’m the first coach ever to win the show,” Levine, 46, says, as Clarkson, 43, notes, “But I have won the most!”

Teasing the season’s talent, Levine says that a performance is “explosive” — and unlike anything the show’s seen before.

At another point in the teaser, Legend and Levine bicker — and try to one-up each other by stating that they’ve each won Best New Artist at the Grammys.

“I hate when dad and dad fight,” the “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer says.

In the end, the teaser includes “super surprises” like the return of CeeLo Green. Green was a coach on the first three seasons of The Voice, and is now back to pick the winner of every All-Star Showdown.

“I’m totally gonna steal that for my Vegas show,” Clarkson says of his dramatic entrance.

The Voice season 29 is taking on a new format and the “landmark season will be infused with fast-paced, competitive elements, delivering a fresh twist on the format that raises the stakes for coaches and artists alike,” according to NBC.

For the first time, there are only three coaches instead of the usual four and each coach will have 10 artists on their teams. Then, the competition will feature four rounds: Blind Auditions, Battles, Knockouts, semi finals and finals.

The artists returning for season 29 of The Voice include Girl Named Tom and Jake Hoot for Clarkson, Maelyn Jarmon and Renzo for Legend and Javier Colon and Jordan Smith for Levine.

Clarkson last coached on season 23. Legend and Levine will return to the show after coaching together on season 27.

The Voice: Battle of Champions premieres on Feb. 23 on NBC.
