‘The Voice’ Season 30 Premiere Date & First Week Schedule Revealed

We’re just two months away from Season 30 of The Voice, and when NBC announced its fall schedule on June 24, we finally learned when the milestone season will premiere. This news comes after the confirmation of all four Season 30 coaches in May.

Gear up for a big first week of episodes, as The Voice will be airing three times during premiere week. Below, we rounded up everything to know about the upcoming season, including when you can catch the first episode and more. Scroll down to find out!

When does The Voice Season 30 premiere?

The Voice Season 30 premieres on Monday, September 21. The show will air from 8/7c to 10/9c. Then, on Tuesday, September 22, it will be on from 8/7c to 9/8c, and then again in the same one-hour time slot on Wednesday, September 23.

After the first week, Season 30 will air on Mondays from 8/7c to 10/9c in September and October, then switch to a one-hour slot at 9/8c on Monday nights in November.

Who are the coaches for The Voice Season 30?

Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson are both set to return, along with newcomers Queen Latifah and Riley Green. Latifah was the last coach announced to the lineup on May 12 via NBC.

Prior to that, Green shared his addition to the crew at a concert on May 9, then later posted on Instagram, “I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall. @nbcthevoice #thevoice.”

After the Season 29 finale aired in April, Levine told People that he will be back for Season 30. “I’m having so much fun doing it,” he revealed. “Since I came back a few seasons ago it’s just been a blast and I’m super happy to keep it going as long as they’ll have me.”

Clarkson’s return was announced via The Voice‘s Instagram on May 7. “Please give a warm welcome back to Coach Kelly Clarkson! The Voice returns this fall,” the caption read.

Normally, there are four coaches on the show, although Season 29 changed things up and only had three coaches (Levine, Clarkson, and John Legend) due to the once-a-week episodes and shorter overall season. NBC has not revealed whether Season 30 will switch back to four coaches.

What is the format for The Voice Season 30?

The Blind Auditions are what makes The Voice unique, so those will undoubtedly return if there’s a new season. Should the show follow the format of recent seasons, the Battle Rounds will follow the Blinds. In the Battles, the coaches pair up their artists to perform duets, then pick one to move on. There are often Steals available in this round, although the amount given to each coach varies by season. In the past, some seasons have also allowed the coaches a Save to use in the Battle Rounds, as well.

Generally, the Knockout Rounds follow the Battles. In this round, the coaches pair up their remaining singers again, but this time, they give individual performances, with only one moving on. This round has also featured Steals on certain seasons.

A major change in Season 29 is that there are no Live Shows, which means that viewers will not get a chance to vote for their favorite artists. Instead, the entire season was pre-taped and voting was done in-house, with an audience of past contestants and super fans making the decisions in the later rounds. It remains to be seen whether that format will return for Season 30.
