Adam Levine Loses $5,000 After Former Voice Coach Pulls Off Epic Prank

The Voice star Adam Levine recently shared in an interview that mentoring singers isn’t the only task on hand for the show’s coaches: they also find time to prank each other. Adam has been a coach on the reality singing competition show, off and on, since 2011. The Voice season 27 aired earlier this year, but previous judges have included celebrities like Blake Shelton, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Christina Aguilera.

Adam and Blake, in particular, have always enjoyed a friendly rivalry as judges on The Voice, and that includes pranking each other.

In an interview with Hot Ones on the First We Feast YouTube channel, as reported by TV Insider, Adam shared that Blake once pranked him to the tune of $5,000. Adam said he had asked Blake to help him get a “teacup pig” for his then-girlfriend. Blake told Adam he could get him a teacup pig for $5,000, but when the pig arrived at the Levine home, they realized it was more work than they’d anticipated.

The Maroon Five singer and his then-girlfriend (now wife) rehomed the pig but later were astonished to find that teacup pigs don’t exist, and that their pig had grown much larger than they thought it would. Blake later revealed the entire thing was a prank, and Adam said Blake never gave him his $5,000 back either.

Adam & Blake Have A Friendly Relationship

Blake and Adam have always had a fun, somewhat competitive relationship, which is part of the appeal of The Voice. The coaches form real friendships with each other and banter back and forth, and Adam and Blake’s friendship is jovial and somewhat mischievous. Whenever they appeared together on The Voice, their fake feud was at the center of the coaches’ chemistry.

By sharing the story of getting pranked by Blake over a teacup pig, Adam has shown he doesn’t take it personally and there are no hard feelings.
