According to Entertainment Weekly, Joey was arrested on December 1 for “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously” installing cameras in an alleged victim’s bathroom and bedroom “with the intent to capture the image of another without their consent.”
The alleged victim was not named in news reports.
Joey, an engineer from Raleigh, North Carolina, allegedly committed the crimes in October of this year.
He was booked in jail, but released on a $5,000 bond December 3.
He is expected to appear in court for a hearing on Wednesday, December 10.
Joey nor representatives for Jeopardy! have commented on the arrest.
Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings has also remained mum on the matter.
He has seemingly removed his social media presence in the wake of the scandal.
