The Voice Season 29 Knockouts featured a “crazy” performance that made Kelly Clarkson scream.
Kelly Clarkson Praises ‘Insane’ Performances in The Voice Season 29 Knockouts
Night one of the Knockouts begins on Season 29 of The Voiceas coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John Legend pair up their six remaining team members in vocal battles that will determine which three move on to the Playoffs.
What differentiates the Knockouts from the Battles is they aren’t duets. Each artist sings solo and rather than a song that their coach selected for them, they have the chance to select their own song.
One key Knockout from Team Legend was Moses G., performing Marvin Gaye‘s “Let’s Get It On,” vs Lucas West, performing Billy Joel‘s “New York State of Mind,” and Parade has a sneak peek.
Adam said, “Moses, Moses, Moses, you cannot do that song unless you do exactly what you did.”

“You committed,” John interrupted.
“I cannot move like you move,” Adam added, while Kelly joked, “Moves like Jagger.”
“Lucas, you are not on my team, and I’m still mad about it,” Adam continued. “You keep getting better and better. I mean, this dude really plays. The keyboard is not a prop, and I love that about you, too.”
Then Kelly said, “Moses, you make me so happy. I found myself smiling so much my face hurt. I love it. Your arms open and you’re dancing is awesome and I just love it. Lucas, Billy Joel if he sees this, like you just made him proud. That was insane. You have to be able to say I’m going to challenge myself because I feel like I’m worthy of it, and I think you need that kind of confidence and attitude to move forward, so I would lean a bit more towards Lucas.”

Then host Carson Daly got John’s opinion.
“I was so impressed with both of your performances,” John said of his teammates. “Moses you really have such a beautiful energy. You just radiate light and positive energy and that’s what people want to feel and want to see. Lucas, I feel like we saw new things from you vocally today. That was really revelatory. To be able to play the piano and then sing as well as you did today is just incredibly impressive. I think both of you are phenomenal and it’s been a joy working with both of you.”
Tune in tonight to find out the winner of this Knockout.
The Voice airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
