Justina Machado Prepares Her Broadway Return During ‘Real Women Have Curves’ Rehearsals
Justina Machado will be back on Broadway this season in the new musical Real Women Have Curves and we have photos from the rehearsal process!
The new musical is based on the beloved movie of the same name, which was actually based on a stage play by Josefina Lopez.
In Real Women Have Curves, it’s the summer of 1987 and Ana Garcia dreams of flying away from East Los Angeles.
But when her family receives a make-or-break order for 200 dresses, Ana finds herself juggling her own ambitions, her mother’s expectations, and a community of women all trying to make it work against the odds.
Broadway newcomer Tatianna Córdoba will make her debut starring as ambitious high school senior Ana Garcia, the role that America Ferrera played in the 2002 movie.
Real Women Have Curves: The Musical will begin preview performances on April 1 ahead of an opening night on April 27.
