Happy’s Place Setting Major Sitcom Reunion With Guest Stars

Season 2 of Reba McEntire’s show, Happy’s Place, will reunite two sitcom legends. Happy’s Place is Reba McEntire’s sitcom about a woman who inherits her father’s bar with a half-sister she didn’t know and their efforts to run it together. The series reunites McEntire with Melissa Peterman, her former Reba co-star, after they headlined that show together between 2001 and 2007.
Happy’s Place was renewed for a second season in February 2025, only months after the show’s NBC premiere. After Happy Place‘s positive reviews and proving once again that she is a sitcom legend, she will soon be joined by two of the biggest sitcom stars from the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Per TVLine, Christopher Lloyd and Carol Kane will appear on Happy’s Place together, decades after they co-starred in Taxi. The two comedy legends starred in Taxi from 1978 until 1982 as the eccentric characters Reverend Jim Ignatowski and Simka Dahblitz-Gravas.
Lloyd will be portraying a Happy’s Place character named Clive, who comes into the bar seeking his lost phone. Kane has been cast as Clive’s free-spirited wife who is seeking justice.
Cherri Oteri will also appear during the show’s second season as a strict health inspector assigned to Happy’s Place who is very serious about cleanliness. Oteri’s role appears to be unrelated, as it is thought that she won’t appear during Lloyd and Kane’s reunion episode, though that is unconfirmed.
What This Means For Happy’s Place

It is surprising and satisfying that two actors who are as beloved and hilarious as Kane and Lloyd will be sharing the screen together again decades later. Both have appeared in a variety of projects in recent years, including Lloyd’s recent role in Wednesday season 2’s cast, but this reunion was still unexpected.
If Lloyd and Kane are a hit on Happy’s Place, this will no doubt open up more possibilities for the show. The two actors could become a regular part of the Happy’s Place cast, or this initial success could attract appearances from other sitcom legends.
Our Take On Happy’s Place’s Season 2 Reunion

It often feels as though terms like talent and legend get thrown around too easily in reference to actors. However, there are some performers who are so talented that it feels like the word legend doesn’t go far enough. Since Christopher Lloyd and Carol Kane fully invest in whatever characters they play and make the most of them, they are two of those performers.
When Kane and Lloyd appear on Happy’s Place together, it will be wonderful to see them reunite. Since they are such unique talents, I am most looking forward to seeing the compelling ways they will bring their characters to life and how they will impact the sitcom’s second season.
