Pop Culture Jeopardy! changes streaming network ahead of season 2 as Colin Jost ‘in talks’ to return as host
The comedian made his hosting debut on the game show, which premiered in December

POP Culture Jeopardy! has switched streaming services ahead of its second season, and Colin Jost might be returning as host.
The series, which is a spin-off of the longtime game show Jeopardy!, premiered on Amazon Prime Video in December.
The high-stakes trivia show has a similar format to Jeopardy!, where contestants compete against each other for monetary prizes, but it tests them solely on pop culture knowledge.
Fans have been patiently waiting to see whether the quiz show would be renewed for a second season.
It was finally announced on Thursday that Season 2 is coming, and that the show will be moving to a new streaming platform, Netflix.
As reported by Deadline, the changeover is rare, as the show was created for Amazon but will now stream on a second service.
Colin hosted the first season and is reportedly “in talks” to return for the second installment, which is expected to premiere sometime in 2026.
MAJOR CHANGES
Pop Culture Jeopardy! was a part of Amazon’s block of game shows, including Travis Kelce‘s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? and Buy It Now and Wish List Games.
The switchover also comes after numerous Amazon unscripted executives moved their shows over to Netflix in the last year.
“Pop Culture Jeopardy! captivated an audience with its fun and energetic game play, building on the beloved franchise and offering fans an opportunity to test their zeitgeist knowledge,” Suzanne Prete, President, Game Shows, Sony Pictures Television said in a statement.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partnering with the exemplary team at Netflix, to bring more episodes to our passionate and loyal viewers.”
Fans reacted to the news in a popular Reddit thread, with many divided over the change.
“That’s an upgrade for PCJ honestly. A lot of folks don’t go to Amazon to watch things and many who would be a great target viewer for this show wouldn’t run across it in the wild on Amazon Prime Video,” one person wrote.
“I’m just the opposite. I have Amazon, but don’t have Netflix, do I guess I’ll miss out on s2,” another replied.
“Just glad they got a season 2. Jost really got into the groove as host over the term of the season,” applauded a third.
“YES! So happy it’s getting a season 2, and feeling so much better about watching/trying out for it now that it’s out of Amazon’s clutches,” a fourth remarked.

MORE WAYS TO WATCH
The original Jeopardy! game show airs weekdays on ABC, but it has also recently changed how viewers watch it.
In August, it was announced that Jeopardy! episodes would be available to be streamed the next day on Peacock and Hulu beginning in September.
Wheel of Fortune also made the same deal with the streamers, broadening the show’s viewership beyond primetime cable TV.
It’s the first time that current, syndicated episodes are available to stream nationally.
This includes newer and classic episodes, going back to the show’s debut in 1964 with late host Alex Trebek.
Former Jeopardy! champ, Ken Jennings, became the show’s sole host following Alex’s death from pancreatic cancer in 2020.
He previously co-hosted the show for two years alongside The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik.
Ken took over the podium permanently when Mayim departed at the end of 2023.
