Meryl Streep has recently sparked wedding speculation with Only Murders in the Building co-star and beau Martin Short.

A source close to the couple spills to RadarOnline.com, “Friends are whispering the next step will be a wedding.”

For those unversed, Meryl and Martin were reportedly first linked in January 2024.

“It’s obvious Meryl is madly in love. Martin is quick, intelligent and, of course, funny. He makes her laugh. A sense of humour can be very attractive,” explains an insider.

It is pertinent to mention that this would be second marriage for both Martin and Meryl.

The actor reportedly lost his wife Nancy Dolman to ovarian cancer in 2010 whereas Mamma Mia! actress had been separated from her ex-husband Don Gummer for more than six years.

However, now Martin and Meryl have been enjoying their time together. They were seen out and about at Off-Broadway’s This World of Tomorrow in New York in November 2025.

“Neither one of them probably ever imagined they’d find love again at this stage of their lives,” notes an insider.

Reflecting on their romance, the source adds, “They seem like two teens in high school. It’s sweet.”
