The Voice Season 28 Knockouts continued on Nov. 17 with three more head-to-head duets from Teams Michael BubléSnoop Dogg, and Reba McEntire. “Mega mentors” Joe Walsh and Zac Brown assisted during the rehearsals that helped narrow down teams headed for the Playoffs. In the Knockouts, the coaches no longer had a steal or save button, but for the first time, each nominated one of their winners using the new “Mic Drop” button to give them the chance to perform at the Rose Parade, voted on by the audience.

In Part 2 that aired Nov. 3, Michael dropped the mic for 14-year old Max Chambers following a stunning rendition of “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” by Stevie Wonder. In Part 3 that aired Nov. 10, Niall Horan gave trio DEK of Hearts the chance at the Rose Parade based on their harmonies in “What If I Never Get Over You” by Lady A.

Read on for our The Voice 28 recap of the “The Knockouts, Part 4” performances which aired Monday, Nov. 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

Team Reba
Songs: Aaron — “Hurricane” by The Band of Heathens/Cori — “You and I” by Lady Gaga
Joe’s advice: [to Aaron] “I can’t quite see your eyes. Be in the room. Everybody’s lookin’ at you on stage listenin’ to what you’re doing, except you.” [to Cori] “That last word, I’d hit it … a little quicker.”
Michael’s comments: “You both were incredible. Cori, your voice. .. you walk out and you just destroy. Aaron, I wish I had that gritty thing that seems to come so easy to you.”
Snoop’s comments: “Aaron, the way you know how to control your vocals. The way you can get that grit off. Cori, I loved how you started off mild then you got real hot.”
Niall’s comments: “Cori, you just continue to shine. You do remind me of a Stevie Nicks. … Aaron, if that was on the CMAs, that’s all over the internet the next day.”
Reba’s comments: “Cori, you are a powerhouse. When you hit the stage, everybody knows you mean business. Aaron, you are a seasoned veteran up on the stage.”
Winner: Aaron Nichols — Reba hit mic drop

Carolina Rodriguez vs. Mindy Miller

Team Snoop
Songs: Carolina — “Lovesong” by The Cure (Adele version)/Mindy — “In Color” by Jamey Johnson
Zac’s advice: [to Carolina] “There’s a part in the middle when you go up and then the last note is up and then you stay up again. Don’t land on the higher one yet so that it’s still building; it gives you a note to jump up to for the next one.” [to Mindy] “Less is more on your runs. If you have two moments in the song where you’re showing off your runs and being able to do it, I feel like it’s enough. ‘Cause if you do too much it doesn’t make ’em as special.”
Niall’s comments: “Mindy, you’re so solid, so consistent, and your tone is … so nice to listen to. Carolina, you shocked me there. That was another level again.”
Reba’s comments: “Carolina, I thought that was from a James Bond movie … it was very sensual and mysterious. Mindy, Jamey would be very proud. You did a great job.”
Michael’s comments: “Mindy, I love watching you, I love hearing you. Carolina, you really surprised me. I heard a part of your voice that I haven’t heard yet… I heard jazz.”
Snoop’s comments: “Carolina, you’re so young. For you to be on this big stage and to be performing like you’re performing, you are amazing. Mindy, touched my heart tonight and that’s what music is supposed to do.”
Winner: Mindy Miller

Jazz McKenzie vs. Teo Ramdel

Team Bublé
Songs: Jazz — “Cruisin'” by Smokey Robinson (D’Angelo version)/Teo — “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi
Zac’s advice: [to Jazz] “There are some sections where you run out of breath a little bit. You’re doing these long runs at the end so they require a little air. Do you ever diaphragm breathe?… Practice that and then you’re gonna have twice the tank for air that you think you have.” [to Teo] “Find your confidence and know this is your shot to show everybody what you got. And own it, even if you slip up.”
Snoop’s comments: “Damn Teo, that was a hell of a performance … that’s superstar stuff right there. Jazz, you are an exceptional vocalist. You know you wrong for doing a Smokey Robinson song like that.”
Niall’s comments: “Wow Teo, you’re willing to try any song and challenge yourself … every time you do it, you’re just Teo. Jazz, you’re arguably the best singer in this show … you don’t even look like you’re trying at all.”
Reba’s comments: “Jazz, that was wonderful … I’ve been in awe … it was just unbelievable. Teo, great performance … your singing was great.”
Michael’s comments: “Teo, I know how hard you just worked. You sang it beautifully. Jazz, God’s light radiates through you.”
Winner: Jazz McKenzie
