The Voice’s Mic Drop Winner Has Been Revealed
Catch them singing at the Rose Parade!
The Voice asked, and America answered! After each Coach on Season 28 of The Voice chose one Artist as the Mic Drop winner from their respective teams, viewers at home voted for which one they wanted to see take the stage (well, in this case a float) at the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. And the winner was revealed tonight, December 8.
Drum roll, please: The winner of The Voice‘s first-ever Mic Drop competition is DEK of Hearts from Team Niall. Catch them at the Rose Parade on January 1, 2026.

This season of The Voice has been all about giving more power to more people. Of course, Coaches Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, and Niall Horan are still the guides of the competition, but throughout the process, others have been able to make their mark, too. It started with Host Carson Daly and his Carson Callback Card, which he gave to Artist Ryan Mitchell. This allowed Mitchell to get a second Blind Audition after he received zero chair turns during his first.
Then, instead of the Coaches pairing up the Artists during the Battles, the Artists themselves chose their own pairs. And with the Mic Drop contest, the audience got to weigh in and give a worthy Artist a great opportunity before the Top 6 have even been decided.
Speaking of those Top 6, a third will be chosen by the viewers themselves; in addition to the four Artists hand-picked by the Coaches, two will be voted through by the viewers, and those names will be revealed next week.

Which Artists were up for the Mic Drop opportunity?
Max Chambers was the Team Bublé candidate. The 14-year-old Broadway veteran channeled Stevie Wonder with such maturity that his Coach could instantly picture him entertaining a large crowd the way he’s been trained to do. Of course, DEK of Hearts represented Team Niall, as the trio’s harmonies continued to impress during Knockouts.

Aaron Nichols was the pick from Team Reba. A country boy through and through, Nichols is the cowboy the competition needs, and McEntire wanted her genre represented. Finally, Yoshihanaa was the choice for Team Snoop. Her powerful belting skills have made her one of the competition’s strongest singers.
Congratulations to the winner and to all of the Artists!
