Reba McEntire’s Sitcom ‘Happy’s Place’ is Officially Coming to Netflix.
Netflix is set to become the streaming home for another beloved sitcom.
We’ve learned that Netflix has officially picked up the licensing rights to the freshman NBC series Happy’s Place, with at least the first season set to arrive on the platform in the United States on April 1st, 2026.
This is the latest NBC pickup following The Hunting Party, which landed on Netflix last month.
This particular acquisition feels like a natural next step for the streamer, following the massive success of McEntire’s previous series, Reba, which made a huge splash when it was added to the Netflix library in May 2024 and featured in the daily top 10s for 9 days. It came as part of a wide deal with Disney at the time, although it has now since left the library.
What is ‘Happy’s Place’ about?
Created by Kevin Abbott (the same mind behind the original Reba series), the show follows Bobbie (played by Reba McEntire), who inherits her father’s Knoxville tavern after his passing. However, she’s in for a surprise when she discovers she has a new business partner: a half-sister she never knew existed.
Belissa Escobedo stars as Isabella, the younger, high-energy sister who often clashes with Bobbie’s old-school ways. Melissa Peterman, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk round out the cast.
Season 2 of the show has been on the airwaves since November of last year, and the show has already been renewed for a third season.

When will Happy’s Place be on Netflix?
Currently, the licensing deal is confirmed for Netflix US only, with a release date scheduled for April 1st, 2026.
At this time, only the first season is expected to drop. With the show already renewed for a third season on NBC, future seasons could follow a similar second-window licensing path once their respective broadcast runs and initial Peacock windows conclude, although that’s not guaranteed.
While it used to be the case when Netfllix licensed a big show from a network it’d have the lifetime rights of the show, we’ve have noticed that with many current run network shows licensed to Netflix, they’re only licensed for a short period in the hopes that it gets people interested enough to jump over to watch the show’s newer seasons elsewhere.
