As Reba McEntire plans her wedding to Rex Linn, there is one task that she can cross off her to-do list: Making the wedding cake. That’s because her friend and fellow actor, Melissa Peterman, has volunteered for the job.

Peterman met McEntire on the set of the TV show Reba where she played Barbra Jean. The two have been good friends ever since and Peterman knows exactly how to help her friend get through the planning and organizational madness that comes with planning a wedding.

“I will bake her wedding cake,” the actress said in an interview with People. “Yes, I will make your wedding cake, Reba McEntire.”

While McEntire is famously a lover of pineapple upside down cake and, of course, corn dogs, Peterman has a vision for Reba’s wedding cake and it takes its flavor from a true Southern classic—banana pudding.

“And I will do a banana pudding, Nilla Wafer. I’ll make a bride and groom on the top out of Nilla Wafers, which she’ll love,” Peterman told People.

While it could be risky to try something new for a wedding cake, Peterman already knows that McEntire loves her banana pudding cake, because she made her one for her 69th birthday. A friend who will bake you a birthday cake and a wedding cake, is a good friend to have!
