The Voice season 29 continued with the battle round, where coaches paired artists for duet performances. Each coach entered the round with 10 contestants from the blind auditions. After each battle, one contestant advanced while the other faced elimination unless selected through a steal. Coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine made decisions based on the performances shown in the episode.

Guest advisors Jennifer Hudson, Benji Madden, and Muni Long joined rehearsals and worked with contestants before they performed on stage. The episode included several battles that ended with direct winners and some contestants staying through steals. As a result, team lineups changed by the end of the night.

The updated teams now include a mix of original members and artists added through steals, setting up the next part of the competition. The structure of the round required coaches to reduce their teams while still keeping options open through steals.

Team changes after battle results in The Voice

The battle round led to changes across all three teams as winners advanced and some contestants were saved through steals. On Team Legend, artists including Grace Humphries and Lucas West moved forward after their battles. Moses G. joined the team after being stolen.

During feedback, John Legend said, “Adi, it’s also so impressive to me when guys have that kind of range,” while also noting Grace’s performance before selecting a winner. Other members on the team remained from the blind auditions and will continue into the next battles.

On Team Kelly, Mikenley Brown and JW Griffin advanced after their performances. Liv Ciara remained on the team after being part of a steal decision. After one battle, Kelly Clarkson said, “It is the most respectful choices that both of you made equally,” while reacting to the duet performance. Other contestants on the team were not part of this episode’s battles and will perform in later rounds.

On Team Adam, artists such as Bay Simpson, Jaali Boyd, and Alexia Jayy advanced. Adam Levine said during feedback, “You guys were so good at playing off of each other,” while responding to one of the duets. The team also retained members who have not yet competed in the battle round. These results shaped the teams after the first set of battles and defined which contestants will move forward.

Steals and remaining contestants in The Voice

Steals played a role in keeping some contestants in the competition after losing their battles. Moses G. remained in the show after being selected by John Legend. Liv Ciara also stayed after multiple coaches showed interest during her battle outcome. These decisions allowed teams to add contestants outside of direct winners and adjust their lineups based on available choices.

In one battle, Alexia Jayy and Moses G. performed “Nightshift.” After the performance, feedback from the coaches included, “Alexia, your low part of your voice is so beautiful,” and Adam Levine told Moses, “your voice has a vibe and an energy to it,” before the final result was announced. Alexia Jayy advanced, while Moses G. joined another team through a steal. In another battle, Adi Arora and Grace Humphries performed together, leading to a decision where Grace moved forward.

Across the episode, the coaches used their choices and steals to adjust their teams. Each team now includes contestants who won their battles and others who were added through steals. The updated lineups will continue into the next round, where more eliminations and selections will take place. The battle round will proceed with remaining contestants paired in upcoming episodes, continuing the same format of performance, feedback, and selection.
