Meanwhile, Bobbie’s bartender BFF Gabby (Melissa Peterman) has been taking steps toward becoming a mom, while Isabella (Belissa Escobedo) has returned to school, leading to some heartfelt moments from the ragtag crew. Meanwhile, there have been countless laughs as McEntire and the Happy’s Place ensemble serve a fresh round of hilarity each Friday night on NBC.

“It’s just wonderful writing. Just love it,” McEntire told NBC Insider while gushing about the “good emotional rollercoaster” of Happy’s Place Season 2. “We can sink our teeth into it.”

As if the juicy workplace drama was gripping enough, the endless rotation of Happy’s Place guest stars has kept audiences cackling throughout Season 2 of the NBC sitcom. The show has relished in any opportunity to welcome a dynamite guest star; fans have enjoyed Reba reunions and powerhouse pop-ins from Shameless star Emma Kenney, Saturday Night Live icon Cheri Oteri, not to mention Taxi co-stars and comedic heavyweights Christopher Lloyd and Carol Kane.

And the feel-good vibes of the sitcom are echoed behind the scenes, as well. During a chat with NBC Insider, Season 2 guest star Oteri commended McEntire for cultivating such a joyful environment on the set of Happy’s Place.

“You’re pretty much in awe. But that woman is smiling 24/7, and there’s such a warmth from her. You just realize who you’re standing in front of. How incredibly, ridiculously talented she is…” Oteri told NBC Insider. “I sound so corny, but I tell people [that set] is literally the happiest place. I mean, it’s that title, I walked into the warmest, most supportive group of people…”

“[The Happy’s Place cast are] the nicest people in the world. It was such a pleasure. It’s like the whole place is having so much fun with everything, you just feel a part of this group, that you just feel lucky,” Oteri said. “Everybody’s having fun there. I’m telling you, walking onto that set is like you’re just walking into a big hug.”

From the real-life love story between McEntire and Rex Linn to the dynamite lineup of guest stars who grace the bar occasionally, everyone is feeling the camaraderie behind the scenes of the NBC sitcom. The Happy’s Place cast expresses immense gratitude for being able to star alongside McEntire and such a welcoming ensemble and crew.

“It feels like… being part of a resurgence of sitcom television, and that’s very special, and so I’m feeling so lucky,” Belissa Escobedo told NBC Insider. “Reba is an angel, so it’s awesome to go to work every day and have it be her at the forefront.”

Happy’s Place star Tokala Black Elk couldn’t agree more, saying he feels lucky to play Takoda and cross paths with comedic heavyweights regularly. “I feel like I’m the luckiest man on Earth,” Elk said in a behind-the-scenes clip. “Because I get to work with the funniest people.”
