‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ Fans React to Jamie Ding’s Sweet Gesture

The pair entered their second episode, which aired July 29, with only two questions left to answer. The $500,000 question read, “What achievement occurred just two months after a New York Times article said it wouldn’t happen for ‘one million to ten million years’?” The options were splitting the atom, cloning a mammal, the first airplane flight, and the Polio vaccine.
Affleck and Ding discussed the possibilities and used their 50/50 lifeline to get it down to splitting the atom and the first airplane flight. The men decided to lock in the first airplane flight, and they were correct, moving on to the $1 million question.
The $1 million question was “In an annual Thanksgiving tradition, all but which of these have been the names of turkeys pardoned by a U.S. President?” The options were Peanut Butter and Jelly, Tater and Tot, Mac and Cheese, and Spaghetti and Meatball.
The team used their Ask the Host Lifeline and then Phone a Friend. Host Jimmy Kimmel has covered this topic on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and he gave them the answer of spaghetti and meatballs. That is what they went with, and the pair won $1 million.
After the answer was revealed, the men embraced in a big hug. Ding jumped up and down and put his head into Affleck’s chest. He then turned his head sideways and rested it on Affleck’s shoulder.
Their win was posted to the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?‘s Instagram page. Fans reacted to the sweet gesture in the comments.
