‘The Floor’ Season 6 Features New Twist That Will Shake up the Game

The upcoming season of The Floor will have an all-new twist that will completely shake up the game. Plus, get a first look at the champions who are playing this season.

In an exclusive clip obtained by TV Insider, The Floor host Rob Lowe says, “America’s number one game show is back!” Then, the words “America’s #1 primetime game show (adults 25 to 54)” appear on the screen.

Season 6 will premiere on Wednesday, September 23, at 8/7c on Fox. The game show was also renewed for a seventh season.

“You all have one thing in common. You are all champions,” Lowe says. It was announced earlier this month that Season 6 will feature champions. Fans weren’t sure what that meant, but now they are getting another hint at what that means.

This season will feature an NCAA Volleyball champion, a taxidermy champion, a car-jitsu champion, a BBQ world champion, an MMA world champion, and more.

At the end of the clip, Lowe shares the new twist with the players. “And, of course, new this season, The Power Shot, where you become the human randomizer,” he says.

“Oh, that’s insane,” a contestant says. A further explanation is not given, but it seems to be that the person who wins it will be able to pick who plays next by landing on their space.

Plus, the first look at the key art for this season can be seen above. Lowe is standing on the floor, which appears to be opening behind him. The tagline reads, “Stand your ground.”

The Floor is a game show where 100 contestants stand on squares. They each have an expert category in which they duel someone else. Whoever wins that duel wins both pieces of the floor and continues on in the game.

The goal is to win every piece of the floor by continuing to win duels. Whoever wins the whole thing takes home $250,000. In each episode, the contestant who has the most spaces on the floor wins $20,000. The contestant who wins the most duels that episode can also choose from the Time Boost or Category Steal.

It is not clear if those powers will be back again for Season 6, but they are usually included with a new one. Season 5 included The Territory Freeze, which froze the contestant who had the most squares halfway through the season until everyone had dueled.
