Viewers got the chance to watch Hannah, Jordan McCullough, and Keyla Richardson battle for the top spot during the season finale, and the contestants had judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie floored by their memorable performances. But in the final moments, only one managed to win it all—and that happened to be none other than Hannah herself.

Now that American Idol has finished, fans are already hoping for another season. Given how there will be new contestants and a plethora of twists coming to audiences, here’s everything we all need to know about what the future holds for American Idol.

Will there be a season 25 of American Idol in 2027?

Just weeks ahead of the season 24 finale, fans got an exciting surprise from American Idol on Instagram. Not only has American Idol been renewed for season 25, but people already have the opportunity to sign up for auditions!

“Our search is on for #TheNextIdol! 🤩,” the caption read on April 28. “Send in your video now, or tell a friend! 🎤 #BeAnIdol.”

As soon as fans learned about the future of American Idol, they were ecstatic.

“Oh my gosh, so early! OK OK OK we’re getting ready 😮,” one person wrote in the comments. “Remember my name! I’ll be the next American Idol 🫶🫶🫶,” another wrote. “Awesome so excited ❤️,” a different follower added.

Who are the judges for American Idol season 25 in 2027?

While the show hasn’t confirmed which superstars will be judging American Idol, based on previous years, it’s highly likely we’ll see Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Lionel Richie sitting at the judges’ panel in season 25. And if that’s not enough, there’s an equally high chance that Ryan Seacrest will return as host.

After all, Luke and Lionel have been part of the show since it got rebooted for season 16 back in 2018. And as for Carrie’s position, the season 4 winner replaced Katy Perry as a permanent judge for season 23 in 2025.
